Apparently my Feng Shui ...

("fong shoooay", I'm told) ... duuh!

... is all wrong.

Sofas should back on to a wall.

Yes, really. Well ... apparently.

So my furniture is in the middle of the room.

And I don't have a sofa facing the door.

Is this to do with psychic lines, or something?

Or because a baddie could sneak up behind me on the sofa, and murder me?

Or is it all total poop?

I have a big plant behind one sofa ... a "prayer plant" or some such.

Maybe the baddie would hide behind the plant, before murdering me.

I must get a book on "fong shooooooayyy" ... before I am murdered.

Are you any more comfortable with your furniture arrangements?

Or maybe you're an expert on Feng Whotnot !!

What's in the crook of the L, cazzz?

Could you knock through and make one square room?

Oh, kazzamac ... radiators are SUCH a pain in the butt. They're always where you'd want to put something. Houses should all have heating that comes up through those little vents in the floor.
JJ, when I rule the world that's going to be top off my list - eyeryone must have underfloor heating :D

LOL slapshot.

That red flock wallpaper can't be good for the feng shui !
I don't believe in that stuff...anyway, if you put the siofa against the wall you can't pop the wife over the back of it for a quickie....;0)
I believe feng shui started off as a set of rules to help people site houses in sensible places away from 'dragons' (floods) and to have them sensibly laid out. Unfortunately. like religion it all got a bit over egged and silly people started taking it too seriously then adding a layer of pseudopsychic nonsense. Still there is big money in it and at least it keeps some people off the dole.
I've been told to move my bed around as it is facing in the wrong direction to get a good nights sleep! But it doesn't bother me!!!!
Mine must be absolute rubbish. If my sofa were against the wall (please note subjunctive after if) then there would be no place for the book-case and I would probably freeze to death in the winter. The door would then be on my left, same wall.

Please tell me where my bed should be in the bedroom. At the moment it is dependent on the electric sockets. Lamp, electric blanket.

Alternatvely I can happily continue to live with my bad luck! Still breathing and solvent.
A sensible woman like you should not be asking this sort of question.
Just remembered my porcelain figures of the three immortals, looking at me as I type...

This is what the book says. No disrespect to the unfortunately named god of wealth, chaps, or all your cash will mysteriously get spent!

Fuk, Luk and Sau are the most auspicious trinity of gods/deities in Chinese history and represent prosperity, authority and longevity. Fuk is the deity of wealth and prosperity, Luk symbolizes power and authority, and Sau symbolizes longevity. They are usually represented together and are known to attract health, wealth and prosperity to those who keep them and also to the environment in which they are placed.

According to Feng Shui guidelines, the Three Immortals should always be placed together on a high table or shelf in your dining or living room to attract good happiness, good fortune and long life into your home. They must never be placed low, or on the floor as it is very disrespectful to them, as well as all deities.
Additionally, they should not share the same wall as a toilet or bathroom, be placed facing the dining table as we do not want to eat while the “gods” drool looking at the food, or face the main entrance door because we do not want to “employ” them to guard our door. For protection and support in business, place them high on a shelf behind you in your office to provide protection, support and good fortune.
