I'm redesigning my work station and I wonder if you can help.If you are right handed is your monitor to the right...left handed is your monitor to your left...do you cross over left to right, right to left or is your monitor straight ahead of you. What works best for you.....and maybe me too tia

Want neck ache?

Mines straight ... no neck ache.
my monitor is straight ahead of me, I am right handed
My monitor and keyboard are in front of me. You should do what ever suits you and the way you work.
my keyboard is straight in front and my monitor to the right (at work). I get neckache evrey day.
Left- or right-handed, your monitor should be directly in front of you, with the top of it about level with your eyes.

Your keyboard and mouse should be within 180 degrees and within arm- to elbow's-length of your body. You should be neither reaching nor leaning in order to operate the mouse or keyboard.

Your desk should be at elbow height, so your chair needs to be adjusted to enable that, with the use of a footrest if necessary.

i'm asking common sense......which is more comfortable...
Would this help? El portátil en casa.wmv (6229KB)
I have my main monitor directly in front, my other monitor is to my left.
I am right handed.
I've done a DSE assessor course, yes, but I also have personal experience, having been diagnosed with CTS. And what is more comfortable is what I have described - as most of my colleagues find when they have to hotseat on my work PC. I can't use my husband's PC because he has the monitor high up and to the right (and then he wonders why his neck and shoulders ache when he's been gaming).
sorry can't embed a.wmv link without email - my mistake...
