Lewis - Possible spoiler

I watched Lewis last night on Sky+

Can someone explain why the killer, killed the young motorcycle girl? I know she discovered the, first, body, but why was she killed?

Because the killer thought she had seen him, or worked out who he was.

I wondered the same thing but then I can't work out why the first murder was committed either.

She died because she had worked out, who the killer was and was going to tell, I like Lewis but I think that one stretched the bounds a little
