Cat cages (or crates) help needed

I am 'maybe' having some work done to my house and it will need to keep the two kitties contained in a room.

Due to the lay-out of my flat and the fact that none of the doors actually close properly I am thinking of sticking them in a cage (or two to prevent them killing each other). They will be in there all day.

What size cage should I consider getting? It may never be used again so a cage that is temporary is fine by me.

Can anybody help?

You need room to put a litter tray in and room for a bed, but apart from that they won't take any harm for a day or two. Argos do cheap fold up cages, or you can get one out of your local free ads. I could lend you one if are anywhere near Norfolk!

Thanks for the offer - but I am up North of the border in Perth.

I will go see what Argos has to offer. Putting up with pathetic meowing for a day may drive me insane though - five minutes in the car to the vet is bad enough.
