What do they bring to our society , I dont mind the ones with the head scarfes , but this all over body thing is just not British.
In the deep south of america , in the 1950's the KKK wore similar outfits , yet they were banned .
I am not racist , but I am patriotic .
Show who you are , and integrate into OUR society .
For the good of all concerned .

I bet it's realy appreciated that you "don't mind the ones with headscarfs" Of course it's racist. As long as people do me no harm,I don't care what they wear, beit ,Veils;Hoods;Doc Martins or whatever. The delight of being British is the diversity of our culture, and I for one don't wish us all to coform with your stereotyping of Britishness

Murdering & Bigoted .
Two words that I would associate with the middle east .
Can you see where this is going .
Is it really so long since 9/11 or 7/7 .?
I for one will never forget the hero's who died for OUR country , and America .
So cowards who want to hide behind a mask can expect what they deserve .

Beerbelly, have another read of your question and your last post. Hopefully then you will realise how ignorant, racist and incoherant they actually are. How do you make the link between muslim women wearing veils and terrorism? Why does wearing a veil make you a coward who deserves what you have coming you?

There is a lovely little Park in london where I used to take my kids to play and my wife and I used to sit on the benches there and chat to other parents. One day there was a fun day thing on there and question of religion came up and we counted there, all talking, all chatting, our kids all playing happily together, 6 Muslims, 2 Jews, 1 Baptist, 1 Catholic, 4 C of E, and 2 sikh people. Two of the Muslim ladies were wearing the veil, the kids were not scared of her, she was very nice ( and easy to understand). THAT is the non-hysterical reality of lots of races and religions living in Britain. Yes you have extremists, but that's all they are , extreme elements of a much wider group and you will always have these in any religious or ethnic group. Most Muslims are decent, sensible people, no different to anyone else, so can we stop the hysteria please?
The KKK also go back a bit further than "the 50's" beer belly and I'm not even going to maul you over your dreadful comparsion, as I feel you are quite "challenged" enough.

I understand the frustration that non muslims have when faced with a muslim woman wearing a veil or a "Burkha". But Christian Nuns wear a similar sort of outfit yet they can integrate into the British Society well. When you talk to someone on the phone you have no knowledge of how they look but we are able to communicate effectively with them.
The problem with everyone these days is a lot of ignorance . I know the attitude "IF YOUR NOT ONE OF US YOU SHOULD NOT BE HERE". But try being a bit civilised and respect other individuals and you will be less bitter and twisted. People are not here to harm others everyone wants to get on with their lives. Differences occur when their is no understanding of the other parties. WARS take place due to differences.
Oh, now, the excess of political correctness is ON, let me get out of here....
Funny how everybody "defend" muslims, and everybody who says any tiny bad thing about muslims, is directly stereotyped as a RACIST. So, life goes on and when I go to the street I have to cope with many of them looking at me with a total disgusting look, like i m DIRTY because I am a woman and don't cover my head... of course, if I complain, I am a racist. If I say I don't like the way they behave I am a racist.
But in the art craft class I have to accept a muslim woman telling me I shall not wear that skirt I was wearing, as if she had anything to do with my life and my own tastes... come on, you political correct ones are so irritating.
I am a catholic and I am the first one to point out the bad things in my religion, and if someone says they don't like catholics, I won't say they are racist. It's just a question of preference.

We are having a similar problem in Australia where it is illegal to wear a motorbike helmet when entering banks, government buildings and in some cases public places, like restaurants.
Muslim women in veils are often sexy but individuals (women?) whose entire body is hidden and, like it or not, capable of concealing items of public harm should be banned, as in France.
I'm proud to be a catholic and, though I realise that also means I am supposed to be an infidel, I note that nuns do not wear veils, are not carried in the back of open vehicles, not allowed to drive or own a car license or take part in sport (Kuwait), and treated as servants to their husbands. I also realise that not all Muslims are of Arabic decent.
Amazingly, the same people who want to increase the rights of women are the same people supporting a system that belongs in the middle ages.
You have also allowed Muslims to have their own system of law, taking precedence over British law which doesn't make sense. They left their country of birth for a reason and should be grateful and try to assimilate into the country, and society, that gave them a new home.
Like most Aussies, I have Muslim friends who are as worried as I am, that radical elements of their religion do not regard god as a loving god, and give their brethren a bad name.
Some years ago, all Irishmen were feared as possible terrorists, although the trouble came from only a radical few. You can't blame people for being wary, by association, of those who defy the so-called norm or have the same appearance as the radicals we see on TV.
We should also remember the Jewish Stern gang who helped destabilise Palestine by killing English soldiers in cafe's, causing England to abandon the Palestinians and make way for a new Jewish state. You see, everyone is capable of doing terrible things to establish their will.
I'm also angry that Indonesian Muslims caused the Bali bombing killing innocent tourists
