who remembers the programme that was on the radio just before Billy Cotton every Sunday ?
It was Big Bill Cambell and his Rocky Mountain Rhythm and his catch phrase was "mighty fine boys mighty fine", my dad never missed it, I suppose it was the first country & western music we heard- "When its springtime in the rockies" can anyone else recall what else they used to sing ?
Trouble is I can remember things long ago but not so hot on more recent stuff !

Sorry, can't remember the programme you mean, but remember Billy Cotton very well. Wakey Wakey!! It was always on when we had our dinner which was always roast beef because it was cheaper than chicken!! Also remember Peter Brough and Archie Andrews and Life with the Lyons. Such a long time ago.

Oh what memories. I loved Sunday radio way back then!! I can't remember the programme you mention though Dee. I have never like C&W music, perhaps I didn't like it then either.

I know what you mean about remembering things long ago - Two Way Family Favourites and roast beef cooking springs to mind.

Do you remember "The Stargazers" and then "Sing Something Simple" with the Adams singers. Cliff Adams was my uncle. Fond memories.

I used to go in Mum and Dads "big" bed then LL, 7pm on a Sunday night, my Dad was a Radio and TV engineer and I remember him making a crystal radio...Happy memories they were

Ha, ha Bobbi. Do you remember the magnifying screens that used to strap on to the 9 inch screen televisions. And you always had to adjust the horizontal hold when the picture started moving about! Twiddling all the knobs all night seemed to be part of watching the television.

Did you really Lottie, Sunday lunch time radio wasn't so bad, but Sunday evening was just one big yawn, Albert Sandler and his Palm Court Orchestra, Cliff Adams and The Cliff Adams Singers,'Sing something simple'.and what about Edmundo Ros?

Yes hellywelly4 I remember the Mrs & Mrs Smith's five little boys [ way before the Batchelors] and my grandma was a Geordie and she was ever so proud that they came from Newcastle and reminded us every time they came on.
