how much is a meal in China?

Please can anyone tell me how a meal costs in China? Also a drink e.g a beer, glass of wine etc?

 A family member has recently been and the food is very cheap. They stayed in a 4* Hotel for �29 per night.

 Stick to vegetarian food if you are worried about what you are eating. Cat & Dog are delicacies.

 Where in china are you going ? Also how are you travelling ? ie do you have a host to accompany you, if so tell them what you will and will not eat to avoid any embarrassment.I have been told that you never drink alone !
