Does the CoE endorse the Theory of Evolution?

I came across this news story from a few years back http://www.telegraph....o-Charles-Darwin.html and I'm just wondering does this mean that the Church of England accepts the Theory of Evolution as fact and if so where does that leave the acceptance of certain parts of the Bible?

The new interpretation is that God built Evolution into his creation.

Even without considering the obvious conflict with known facts, the Bible abounds with internal incongruities. This isn't a problem for true believers because the church teaches that the Bible is God's Word and one should rely on faith even if it conflicts with real world observations.

Some people believe that the Bible is the absolute, literal word of God.
Some people believe that the Bible is allegorical and open to interpretation,
Some people believe that the Bible absolute hogwash.

I did hear on TV some years ago that some highly thought of religious nutter stated that fossils and minerals in rocks were placed there during the Creation, so 'they' are starting to bend to the irrefutable scientific proof of evolution and indeed now find explanations to tie in with religion.

Some believers say the physical evidence is placed by God as a test of faith. Only the strong pass the test.

And some would say religion evolves as science evolves, beso.

I have heard a vicar at a funeral explain that we are part off the earth and we never go anywhere, which made sense.

dotty, that is almost to the word what Prof. Brian Cox said on the recent BBC programme, Wonders of the Universe. He reckoned that every thing and every person in existence is simply a restructuring of atoms from a time past. And when we die and decompose(sorry, can't think of a nicer word) then the atoms from our body will go on into something else, a rock, a tree, another person. Very insightful I thought.

well at my Great Aunts funeral in 2009 that's what the Vicar said too he was the Vicar of Cross Stone Tod, so he'll know what he is on about

surely if your IQ is above your shoe size religion is utter claptrap isn't it? The fact they are now trying to say evolution is the work of god smacks of desparation!

I always feel a little guilty after I've started into a rant because I'm not a fan of hurting people's feelings. And religious people care more about their faith than I do about my lacking of faith I would assume. But I can't be sure.
