Recorder

I have a recorder with a hard drive and I can record things and play them back but I can't stop it recording halfway through a program, can any one help please?

make and model might help. I have a humax freeview, and by switching to the channel being recorded, if I press stop, I get the option to stop recording.

if i want to stop a recording half way through a programme,
i go into 'menu' and 'planned recordings'
press 'delete'
it then asks if you want to 'keep' whats already been recorded with the programme
or do you want to 'delete' it all.

On my V+ box i can just go to the channel that is recording and press the record button, this will stop the recording.
