Wee pablos just back from his haircut!

The lady takes him to hers and Brings him back. She just asked us if he has a problem peeing? - he dosent!

Last time he peed her front seat, so she kept hiM in back this time in a cage and she says she went through 3 towels?..... He sometimes dribbles with excitement but other than that no!! She says he must be scent marking!? Can i help that? Its natural i suppose? Hes a 1.5yr old westie...x

If she carries loads of dogs in her car then it is likely to be marking behaviour...not sre what can be done though. If it was my dog, I would NEVER carry it on a front seat or allow anyone else to. Dogs should be in crates or carry cages or secured by proper harness in the BACK of the car for their own safety.

Thanks woof! I feel bad that hes peed in the cage, but part of me thinks well surley all dogs do!? When we start his walk he must pee about 6times in 5mins....so its definately scent xxx
at 18 months he's at the cocky teen age....older dogs may be more used to being with the strong scent of other dogs.

Thanks woof, i feel better now, to be honest, nit getting a good vibe from her..may shop around xxx
Has he been castrated? it could be a scent thing but it could be nerves, you mention that he drools too. My eldest is very nervous about traveling in the car depite doing it regularly. We have to keep a kitchen roll in the car to mop up the drool. He's happy to get in and doesn't whine, just drools with a very sad look on his face. If he (Pablo) is being taken away by a stranger in a strange car he could be worried and is peeing because of that. If you are getting bad vibes then he might be too and that's not going to help.
Oh when the OP said dribbles, I thought she meant dribbles pee.

Hes happy enough to go, tail wagging, its excitement....i did mean pee woofgang :0)

Im coonfident its scent marking, but i thought as a groomer you probs would be used to it ....hes in our car regularly and loves it....never peed! Xxx
Sorry i was thinking it was the other end dribbling....Oooops. Maybe she should put one of those puppy training pads in the bottom of the cage next time to help soak it up.
Sounds like something is exciting him sexually, as Ratgirl asked is he castrated ?
Have you noticed him sniffing around excessively and/or slightly 'chattering' his teeth while sniffing and/or foaming around the mouth slightly (not rabies!) - if so this means something definitely is making him feel a bit randy, male dogs do this if they are entire or castrated....lol...perfectly normal behaviour and at only 18months he should grow out of it.

Hiya purple no none of that behaviour! And no he isnt castrated!

He just LOVES visitors and when he runs to the door to say hiya he can sometimes dribble a bit but its not a huge pee!!......i think hes basically been in a van where lots of dogs have been and hes just been whizzing left right and centre! Every lampost i walk by he pees on it lol!!- Hes a youngster though ...tooo cute x
