work contract

i started a job on the 14 march but have found a new job and want to leave, i haven't signed a contract for the job i am in which stated i would have to pay back training costs if i left within 6 months, if contracts are not signed,can they deduct money from my wages. please help.

Possibly - it doesn't matter if the contract isn't signed, it's still in force. Were you on any sort of probationary period?

sounds like my work place, we have right to take back training costs if you leave within first 3 months but we very rarely do.
