A couple of days ago, I asked if anyone could help me to readjust my screen setting so I could actually read it. The wording is very faint. So far, I've had no joy. The type on-screen is grey and I've really got to strain to make it out. Can anyone help further?

Somewhere on your monitor there will be a button that brings up the settings menu. This will give you access to brightness, contrast and colour settings.
Go here:

You should be able to see all of the numbers, from 0 to 10, on both lines. If you can't, follow the on-screen instructions.

But where? I can't find it
what make and model of monitor have you got?
Question Author
I've got a UMC monitor and I'm using Vista
We can't answer that question, Sincnoel, unless you tell us which monitor you're using!
What does the user manual say?
UMC?
The only references I can find to UMC monitors are for combined TV sets/monitors. If that's what you're using, the adjustments are made via the remote control for the set.

Yes, that is the type of monitor I'm using. But I can't figure any way to adjust an internet problem via my remote control. I give up. I'll call my internet man tomorrow and get him to sort it. Thanks anyway, everyone
Try this:
Press the 'p-mode' button and use one of the built-in profiles.

That's based upon reading this:

Thank you again, folks. I'd never heard of p-mode but it seems largely to have done the trick. Incidentally, I am very happy with my UMC. It even plays DVDs.
