GBH SECTION 20 HELP ME!!!

Hi,

I am in desperate need of some advice..

I am being prosecuted for section 20 gbh.
I was in a bar (drunk) when i saw someone who used to bully me at school we started argueing and things quickly got out of control. Next thing I know he swings and punches me TWICE in the face. I then out of reflex's defended my self by striking him with a glass (I WAS ALREADY HOLDING).

Points to consider:

. No previous violent convictions
. No cctv even though (I ASKED TO VIEW IT, HE DIDNT) would this help me?
. He has an expert opinion ( although the expert said it must have been two strikes it COULD have been once if it was from a downward angle. which it must have been because im taller)
. I have 3 statements and 2 witnesses that will attend court
. He has none

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ADVICE I HAVE COURT ON MONDAY. I POSTED A QUESTION BEFORE AND NO ONE HELPED ME :(

what should I expect :( and how should I act/ say in court to further help my defence

Well I can see plenty of other GBH questions and they all have multipal answers even an opion on the outcome will help.. telling me Im not going to get answers isnt helping me in the slightest is it

1. Tell the truth - you can do no more than that.
2. Behave in a contrite manner.
3. If no-one can help you here with sentencing guidelines, have a look at links provided in similar GBH threads..........especially those given by Buenchico.

Thanks for your contribution :) im hoping it will be okay im scared about the jury seeing the pictures and thinking ' he deserves jail ' you know?

He threw the first punch & you defended yourself.....temper management ? Be worried & fearful in Court, the jury might pity you.

Nothing is certain, but I doubt if you would get a custodial sentance, which I presume you are worried about.

The fact that it's s20 and not s18 should give you some comfort.
