If you are making a pot of tea, do you put the milk into the cup and then pour the tea in or do you pour in the tea first and then add your milk. I think I heard once that if you have the milk in the cup first you may scald it when adding the tea and getting a poor flavour. Is there any truth in that do you think?

A mug full of cold water in a saucepan - add two slices of fresh ginger, half a stick of cinnamon and a crushed star anise. Bring to the boil then simmer for 2 - 3 mins, remove from heat - add honey to taste and a teabag. Stir till disired strength then add milk. Strain into mug. ENJOY ...... it's quite delicious. Based on an indian idea.
I always put milk in first then pour the tea. In coffee I pour the milk in last,
It is best to put the tea in first. That way you can judge if the tea is strong enough and if not you can pour it back into the teapot to mash a bit longer. Milk was added first in 'houses of quality' to stop boiling hot tea cracking the fine delicate china tea cups.
Whatever you do, the whisky goes in last.
pour the tea down the sink and drink the milk

After all that I think I got mixed up with something else. It was that you should use boiling water for tea but very hot for coffee, as boiling water will scald the coffee making it taste poorly. I think.
should always be tea first to let bag brew in correct heat, then add milk. Whereas coffee should be milk first otherwise boiling water burns the coffee
Tea every time, otherwise the tea doesn't brew properly!...............
