Just for as long as it takes to explode and decorate the ceiling.

Helen, I have a friend in Cornwall who makes the most divine banoffee pie (Sylvias favourite)
How strange, I was going to ask this yesterday to see if anyone had done it without blowing a tin of it all over the kitchen

Apparently, yes you can. According to the Nestle web site you can, according to friends of mine you can but according to the law of physics you can't

You must leave it to cool completely before you use it though

I've not done it as yet but let me know when you have please =)
Apparently, Pink, you can now buy tins that have already been cooked - Nestle, I think
You are supposed to cook condensed milk?!!!! =(
Noraq, if you simmer it for a couple of hours the milk turns into toffee - and yummy it is too!!!
Maybe if it was a tin of air ... it would explode.

But condensed milk doesn't expand very much when heated?

Is that it, or something like that?
Toffee eh?..might give it a try.
yes you can.

ps
Brighton got promoted last night.
Did we?

Oh, yay ... thank you for letting me know.
interesting Yorkie, I shall keep an eye out for them =)
