Hubby dropped something (hoover) on his big toe weeks ago, now looks like the toe nail is going to come off, as it looks bruised under the nail. Anyone got any tips in how to treat it to hopefully keep the nail. Thankyou

ouch

I banged my little toenail some months back, I thought it had re-grown rather weirdly but it ended up black at the cuticle and imitated a cat-flap. It pinged off last night painlessly.

It takes quite a few months for the damage to work itself out.
i dropped something on mine and it took about 9 months before it came off

I have a feeling the nail will come off, but think I'm right in saying that it will not grow again? Just thought there might be something he can put on it.
It will grow again, takes forever.

I belted one of my big toes about 20 years ago, lots of blood, gory :)

~Took about 1 1/2- 2 years to regrow. Just as strong as it was before the belting.
It'll regrow. My ex used to have to get his toenails removed regularly due to recurring problems with ingrowing nails and they always grew back. In fact they ended up having to destroy the nail beds to prevent the problem happening again and bits still came back!
the nail should grow back, may take a few months, and the nail may be a little distorted, depending on the damage to the nail bed, but it should be fine with time........
