Took a neighbour's child to his school today, Mother feeling unwell. She had given him a letter to post in the box by the school. As we were driving along he asked "who is this bloke with a big 'at on on this stamp"?
Wasn't able to see it as we were on a busy road, but said show me when we stop at school.
When we got to the school he was out of the car like a flash and gone.Think he was a bit ashamed of my old banger.
So when I collect him this afternoon I would like to be able to tell him who the man on the stamp was.
It was a first class stamp-- any ideas anyone?.Not able to give more detail , not having seen it.

to be blunt, i wouldnt want to impress a spoilt child who couldnt even be bothered to hang around a bit and say thank you for a lift to school, but was instead off like a rat up a drainpipe as he was embarrassed about my car. Infact, id make the little git walk home too.
Sorry, don't know - but HE gets full-marks for noticing a man in a hat on the stamp. I never remember whether I've stuck a stamp on, or not!!
I agree with boo I am afraid and I wouldnt feel ashamed driving an old banger, if he prefers to walk because its "trendier" then so be it ;)

Boo agree totally ,but it would be on my conscience if the little twerp got run over on the way back ,and have given my word to his Mother. So I feel because my faithful motor has been insulted I need to show my superior knowledge.Pathetic ,need to get a life -- I know !!!!!
Arrive at the school gates, with windows of car down playing Agadoo at full pelt on car stereo, or anything else equally as bad. If he was embarrassed before, REALLY give him something to curl his toes over.

PS
Dunno the stamp question either- sorry.
and dress up as well, lean againt the side of the car and when you see him jump up and down screaming his name
Doesn't it normally say on the stamp who it is? (unless it's the queen, I think they expect us to know that one)

Got it --Rincewind-- Terry Pratchett's Discworld.

Thanks all , so on the way home we will pause in a lay by and he will get all the info-- he will be itching to get home to his computer.Serves him right.
And when you've finished telling him, make sure you say loudly "durrrrrr, how come you didn't know that?"
I love Terry Pratchett's books. Make sure you tell him that Rincewind is a Wizzard - I think he spells it with two zz's. If he knows anything about Harry Potter or any other similar books he should be ashamed of himself for not knowing about wizards.
