Just seen a trailer for Arthur! made very well in he 80's. Remakes are rarely on a par with the original, apart from that it has that hopeless tw$t Russell Brand in it! Perlease there must be tons of stuff waiting to be turned into films and they keep making old stuff aaaarrrrggghhh!

They don't even go back that far - "re-imaginings" coming up for the batman, superman and spiderman franchises, as if there isn't a surfeit of comic book films already.

And Brand is moronic.
I thought the original film was utterly unfunny - and the re-make has tanked with the critics in the U.S. - word is Russell Brand's acting career is over.

Acting ?????

Career ?????
I don't think remakes are confined to Hollywood. But anyway, if people didn't watch them they wouldn't make them. Hated the original, so won't be watching this. Not a fan of Russell Brand, but I do have to admit he was good value in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall".
