quiet in the garden
6 Answers
think the birds are far too busy nest building and mating to be bothered with feeding at the moment, the seed feeders aren't being visited very much. we have a wren using one of our nest boxes, and a blue tit in another but the open-fronted robin box is still as yet unused.
it'll no doubt be all change in a few weeks once eggs are laid and hatched and lots of chicks need feeding. much prefer it when there's lots of birdies around, seems unnaturally quiet at the mo.

Nice to see you back on our own Bird Section which the Ed has kindly granted us.
The big talking point in Anglesey at the moment is a Purple Heron which has been at Dwyran and Malltraeth marsh since last week. It's moving around.

hi redman :)
no, it was the lakes last month, we went to norfolk and lincolnshire beginning of this month. paid a couple of visits to rspb titchwell and snettisham in norfolk, and frampton marsh and friesland shore in lincolnshire. great places to visit and we had a lovely time.
a purple heron on anglesey?? wow, have you seen it yourself? we saw one in france last year, you're lucky to have one on anglesey. have you been to see if the new rspb place is open there yet? do you fancy being a volunteer there?? we're heading to south stack beginning of next month in the hope of spotting a puffin or two and it would be good if it had actually opened by then.

There's an article in todays local paper 'The Mail' regarding the newly refurbished visitor centre and retail shop which form part of South Stack Cafe'. It is now open. There will eventually be a brand new state of the art Visitor built built near the Tower.
I have not seen the Purple Heron myself but there are Pics of it on the North Wales Birding Forum, the link is below. Click on Purple Heron as there are Pics there.
