Can you get into trouble for putting a jokey answer on the census when it comes to job description? I`ve been serious with the job title but as the job title is self explanatory, I didn`t see the point in going to great lengths to describe what I do.

The census is not a joke. I would advise you fill it in correctly.

Given all the millions of forms to be processed (and all scanned electronically) you'd be unlucky if you were singled out for giving a non serious description.

I mean ... how does a Children's Entertainer describe their job?

"I make animals out of balloons and produce rabbits from toy houses" ?

And a sex worker?

"I shag people"?

Job title - Airline Crew
Description - I put Fly around the world shopping. It`s not exactly an untruth! Maybe I`ll leave it and hope for the best.

I strongly disagree with some of the intrusive questions on this census so I have been quietly subversive by putting down some bogus answers.
For example, I have ticked that I have every qualification listed, I travel to work using the underground/metro (which we don't have in this quiet corner of North Yorkshire), my religion is "Wicca" and I can speak English only "well"

Mind you, the form is hidden at the moment. Mr O would go mental if he found out I've put him down under religion as a Jedi Warrior

The Census is not a joke ...

.. but it is a farce.

I can't see anything on the form that they don't already know about us.

And anyone who wants to stay "under the radar" is not going to fill in the form.
