It's amazing Dad hasn't got up for his usual cup of tea yet. Normally when everyone's gone to bed, I play him the odd Jolson tune. He only knows of him after the malaria took his lung and his voice dipped several octaves. He doesn't recognize the original high tenor Jolson at all.

My Dad is partially deaf, so I'm afraid I get a bit frustrated having to repeat everything twice or three times. The worst bit is that he used to be a witty clever man, and several miny strokes have taken his short term memory. It's so cruel.
