I have been sending in the DT crossword for donkeys years and never won a sausage. Politics are not discussed on here either. If you want to do that post your views in News.
THIS SITE is very good and a friendly little group who are not cheats how can you be we buy the papers and with the cost of them at the W/ends its for pleasure have you not heard of keeping the old grey matter ticking over and its good to help each other, and have fellow intellects to gain and impart knowledge, many never win anything, and there are thousands of crosswords sent in 30 thousand was quoted for the Express some years ago, IF the crossword ever arrives at the P.O BOX then the chances of your envelope being picked is luck along but its nice to think that some of us would win I've won a few small prizes and its nice to get the cheque in the post.Competitions are harmless fun and pleasure and you will find crosswords in all the papers The Times crossword I've done for years and it would be a joy to win that and get name in the Times or Telegraph. I can't see why you ask about cheats they are Tricksters, double crossing people. we puzzlers are not we pay for the Papers, envelopes and stamps, shoe leather to the post box, do you do crosswords perhaps should try can learn a lot of world knowledge, Good Luck to everyone who have got answers today, I brought four top class papers so know all about politics and as I say we are professional people ourselves.
I think calling people on this site "cheats"is rather unfair. For the most of us we have tried and tried to find an answer and there is nothing more frustrating than being stuck for one solution. For my part,I am so pleased to see that there are so many daft souls like myself who put themselves through the agonies of crosswording (I still love them though!) Also, the prizes are not mega bucks or anything like that - it is the feeling of great satisfaction when one finishes a puzzle. And as for the Rainbow quiz - if all the people who are asking for help enter the competition, that is a lot of money for charity.
So,please do not begrudge us our little pleasure.
In my book it is cheating to hand in someone elses work as your own in an attempt to get a reward.Following the logic of some replies it is alright for a GCSE candidate to get his tutor etc. to do his coursework!
The point I was trying to make was that most cheats seem to subscribe to the Mail, the Telegraph or the Express and we all know the Politics of these newspapers.I do not recollect seeing a question about a crossword in the Independant, the Guardian or the Observer.
I am glad that, when I won first prize(a hallmarked sterling silver Cross Townsend fountain pen) for the Sunday Times Crossword a few months ago, I had not cheated.
