Applying for a job in a Catholic school...

would it go against me that I am not a Catholic? I know it shouldn't, but was just wondering!

I would imagine they would err to the catholic applicant

I don';t think it matters for a non-teaching role.

My wife was head of a privte prep school - Catholic - which she is, but her deputy is not. The deputy was supportive of the ethos, although C of E herself, and when my wife left, the deupty got the Headship, so it obviously depends from school to schol.

If you get an interview - make sure you mention that you are supportive of Catholic teachimg as a non-Catholic, if they don't bring it up in the interview, mention it when you are leaving - it will be a plus for you.

Well, i have filled it in and sent it off! I put CofE on the form. Fingers crossed now everyone xx

Surely a Catholic school would not blatantly break the law by preferring a Catholic applicant?

Discriminating on religious grounds is simply illegal.

A religious establishment could not encourage illegal behaviour.

They could end up in prison.

Having said which ... the Pope should be in prison, so that's not the best criteria.

they discriminate against kids who are not catholic jayne, I cant see this being any different..
