err, would you even consider this an option?

I've heard of people getting sprayed and it's made them physically sick and they've had to destroy their clothes, I've also heard that a skunk sprayed the inside of a car and it had to be scrapped because of the smell.
Cute little things though aren't they?

When my cats get upset they scratch or bite me or run off in the huff.

If a skunk gets upset - well it is more of a problem. ;-)

They are cute but I am not too sure that they are suitable household pets.
Oh No, thats all the environment needs, Skunks escaping into the wild. Look what the grey squirrel has done to the native reds, the mink to the water vole!!!!!!!!!! When will people LEARN
they can be de-scented (right term?) apparently.

Similar to Mink, introducing animals into a new environment, don't forget the plight of the Coypu that was hunted down and culled once it escaped and began to breed.
Apparently the Animal Welfare Act forbids the removal of the scent glands, I doubt they would be suitable to live in a house, any upset and woosh goes your three piece.
Question Author
That's viewed as cruel though BOO, removing the scent gland...
No more cruel than removing the gonads of a cat or dog, I would have thought.

No, it's against the law mike, I don't know why but it just is.
Humans are the most destructive animal on the planet. We don't seem to understand that Mother Nature had things well balanced - then we took cats and bunny rabbits to Australia and then went hunting in Africa.

It is illegal to de-claw a cat in this country. This is a sensible rule as cats use their claws in their day to day activities. Activities such as shredding woodwork, taking wallpaper off the walls and attacking their human slave.

Maybe a skunk isn't such a bad idea for a pet. ;-)

Lol! I like your answer wolf63
Speying animals is to stop them breeding mike. Ask the RSPCA and PDSA about unwanted cats/dogs. I dread to think what would happen if skunks were allowed to breed indiscriminately.
even though I dont fancy witnessing it first hand, I've often wondered what a skunks scent actually smells like? Can it be described?
I don't mind watching Pepe Le Pew but I don't want him in my house.
Don't think people hang round long enough to find out lol
I would kick up a stink if my friend got one of these. Something stinks here!
