Has anyone listened to a song or watched a film and used it to influence circumstances in their life?

Don't know if this is really what you mean, but somehow after I watched 'the boy whose skin fell off' it gave me the final courage to leave my 'abusive' boyfriend.  I took my incredible awe of jonny kennedy's courage and thought "i have nothing to complain about, i have a choice".
