adjoining iron roof structure removal

I live in a terraced house and there is an adjioning ironwork roof structure which used to hold some perspex corregated sheeting between mine and my neighbours house.
The perspex sheeting has long gone and I now want to remove this stupid structure which used to cut out all the light to the kitchen area. The trouble is I don't get on with my neighbour and this iron work spans both our side back alleys and is supported into the brickwork on both his house and mine. Do I have the legal right to remove this structure from my side bearing in mind that it is not an original part of the house and that it would then be unsupported and left unsupported?

Trim's right Sonic. Yo certainly shouldn't leave it unsupported. Ideally it should be removed with your neighbours agreement. If he's being an @rse about it, all you can do is cut the frame and leave his half propped securely along the boundary line. I'll bet it wouldn't be long before he got rid of it.
