We're thinking of going to the lake district next week. I have googled and it all looks lovely. So has any ABer got any recommendations? Recommend reasonable hotel/B&B?

There is a tour company who do half or full day tours just outside the station in Windermere. They guide we had took us all over and knew allsorts, was a brilliant day with coffee and lunch stops and about £30 each I think, fantastic value for money, saw so much in one day!

South Lakes Zoo by Dalton in Furness is great and they have a mini owl sanctuary at Muncaster Castle and do talks on peak days with some of the owls.
