Fish Seller selling mushrooms

Does anyone remeber the mobile sefood seller who used to go round working mans clubs and pubs selling raw mushrooms along with his seafood.

I do - I remember thinking that raw mushrooms seemed a strange idea, but I tried one, and loved them - have eaten them ever since, sliced with salad is nice, or just peel and eat on their own. Yum!

Thanks for letting me know, Did you see the seafood seller man selling these? My friends seem to think i have gone mad!!!

Yes, it was the seafood seller - he used to have little paper bags of prawns, and larger bags of mushrooms. these used to be quite common in the pubs years ago, probably died out now as theme pubs have taken over, but tell your friends you are not imagining things - I have seen these guys in many pubs.

The fish man is still around.  We go to a working mens club and he is always there on a Friday without fail, although I have to say I have never seen him sell bags of raw mushrooms.  Next time I'm there I will ask him if he once sold them.
