No questions, but I have difficulty in seeing the point of Jeff Pearce's clues,
5ac As the chemist sees it=arsenic, 9ac Poles following van with one large tool=utensil,(ilis one large) 12ac=(why"by gallery's endless French china"?) tatami, 16down= not at all (I believe) 22down =ropes (why adept)
I couldn't get further than ?R?E?T for 18 ac "Earnest old city chap" (Might be Triest (e), ardent, priest.
If anyone can spare the time to enlighten me, it would be greatly appreciated
