I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia mobile & find that I need to charge the battery more than I used to do with other mobiles. Is it detrimental to the transformer to leave the charger lead connected to the mains when the 'phone is not connected ? Ron.

There have been cases of phone chargers going up in flames when left plugged in. It is a rare occurence but still not worth the risk in my opinion.
