I'm at the farm in Devon, we had a leg of lamb and a rib of beef for lunch yesterday, so with the left over potato and greens I made bubble and squeak to go with the sausages and bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes for Brunch.
Tonight, as my father can't eat anything too spicy, we are having a roasted loin of pork covered in pancetta and fresh sage leaves, served with a creamy apple-brandy and peppercorn sauce. Veg include new potatoes, and cheesy leek and courgette bake. Vgetable and pasta bake for the two vegetarians, and for pud there are three options, the last of yesterday's apple pie with cinnamon ice cream, a fresh cream raspberry trifle or somethinga bit different I'm trying out, a Bailey's hazelnut liqueuer cheesecake, made with a chocolate biscuit base spread lightly with Nutella, then the cheesecake mixture the topped with chopped nuts and chocolate shapes.
I didn't think it was rude. Also, Anne, bednobs wasn't the only one to mention it. So, if you're going to pull someone up for saying something....at least do it to everyone who has said it and not single one person out...
That happens to me all the time....selective reading. It's not a nice trait...
merciasounds, you're a proper foodie, just like me! How lovely! I love what you've been cooking up! Farm in Devon? We are in North Devon. I think we are so lucky to live here! We take our Irish Wolfhounds on Instow beach most days and sometimes go up on the moors near Lee Abbey. Stunning area!! Oh, and nothing better than Devon lamb!! Can't do roasts at the moment as we had to take our old over out and the new one isn't in yet. Really missing not being able to cook and bake as much as I would like to. :o(
Oh, ratter15 and I had fresh king prawns in Thai pad & sweet chilly sauce, Thai noodles, with plenty of resh yellow and red peppers, onions, spring onions. Was lovely!
I'm worried now, I'm adopted and I think I might have been under feeding myself for the last 30+ years. I better triple my intake to make up for lost years.
Yeah sorry pixi I get pedantic about stuff like that. It is American but anyway, most people seem to say "eww" and "frosting" etc now, I've even heard "you do the math".
