Had a slight problem with the skin on my face for about the last two weeks, but this morning its like a well skelped bum! To be honest been up all night scratching it, patches of dry itchy skin, I have chucked all my make-up out etc as i thought it was that,(dont wear alot of make-up). Its now travelling down my neck behind my ears etc, could it be an infection, as I was scratched on the face a few weeks back(work related).Piriton hasnt helped with the itch either! Any Ideas? Going to try and get to doctors this morning.
Thanks
I have never seen a "well skelped bum" but I am always open for offers?....:-)
It does indeed sound more like an allergy than an infection as the latter would invoke pain.
Probably cortisone cream would settle it down, but let us know what the Doc says.
Lol Squad!, thanks for your advice, just trying to find a brown paper bag at the moment!
Will let you know how I get on, eyes are so swollen too, hope to get it sorted soon, as my social life has taken a big dive! never been out socially for weeks now. ho hum, could be worse, just needed to moan....(which i dont often)
Hard to say without seeing it - hope you can get to the doctor - if not, do you have a walk-in centre near you? Failing that, do go and speak to the pharmacist at the local chemist, they can help with over the counter medication if that's what's needed.
Squad, Doctors gave me steriods, stong antihistamine and fuciden H which he hope will help, think it maybe photo sensitive something? going to refer me to hospital to see dermatlogist, minght get to take the brown paper bag off soon! lol
And thanks for your help everyone.
i had dry, sore, patchy skin on the bridge of my nose, my eyebrows and above my upper lip. Hydrocortisone cream sorted it after a couple of days. It's about £3 from any chemist, over-the-counter.
Maybe try MSM cream? I had a bad rash on my face a few weeks ago, then was allergic to the first 2 creams I was prescribed. I was beacon red, itching like crazy, with weeping bits, and too embarrassed to go out. Was scared to try anything else in case I was allergic to that too. Asked the naturopath who said try this MSM cream and I could not believe how rapidly it all disappeared. It also soothed the itching instantly.
Hi There what msm cream, looked it up on google and there seems to be a lot of it around. big question? which one? Thanks in advance. lol Face seems a lttle better, but not much... no itching, strong anithistamines working well!
Sorry for the delay in answering. I am using Higher Nature MSM light cream which the naturopath recommended. I think you have to be careful that it is a good quality one, because I have read on a website that the cheaper ones (often manufactured in China) can contain nasty chemicals. You can get the Higher Nature one in a small bottle too, so that might be good for testing if it suits you. If you try it, the secret is not to use too much at once, because too much and it can ball up a bit. Just put on a little at a time and rub it in well. Then re-apply frequently. It is fantastic for candida rash. Hope this helps.
