I've been to loads hippy, and I always had a great time. It's not like there's folk rolling about on the floor having sex - it's no different to a straight bar really. I would go with my friend and girls would assume we were a couple and leave us alone and men weren't interested, so we could have a hassle free night. There was always a good crowd in and the karaoke nights were great :)
We've been to a gay bar. the first time we went my OH kept saying to me "Don't be looking at anyone" which spoilt the fun a bit. We've been back a few times since and we've always had a good time chatting with them. Doesn't bother me at all.
Often go to gay bars with my other half and 2 gay male friends, we always have an absolute ball, there is no hormone/testosterone rages, just everyone out having a good time, everyone feels so comfortable in their surroundings without being judged for their sexuality. I'd say go for it :-) Enjoy.x.
It's become fashionable for hen's to go an a hen weekend to gay bars around here, they have a fantastic time! I wouldn't worry at all to be honest, at least I can guarantee that the mad scum who cause trouble are not going to be there!
long time ago I walked into a lesbian pub at Southend, we thought we knew the guvnor but the pub had changed hands ! felt very uncomfortable as they all kept staring at us, we had one drink and left poste haste, now I am much older it wouldnt bother me.
We do it often over here (Ibiza) and they are the nicest of places. The gays know you are straight and really look after you. No fighting and drunken brits anywhere!
Whenever my sister used to visit our cousin in Manchester they used to go to a gay nightclub and she reckons it is a fab night out, plenty of hunky men to chat and dance with without the hassle of being chatted up
When I lived in Bedford, I was a fully fledged member of the Winkle Club, which didn't usually accept women. We had some spectacular nights out. I was "One of the Gals"!
