Excel

I have, on floppy disc, a database of albums and cd's. This was done in Excel and then copied to the disc. Now I can't open the file from the disc. It says there is a problem in Excel.exc. I have tried opening it on another computer to no avail, so it is the disc. Have I lost all this info? I have posted this before but I cant find the answer.

If the disk appears to be ok than can you remember what version of Excel created the file - is it later than the version you are trying to use now ? It could be that an older version may not recognise the newer Excel format (but you would expect Microsoft to be able to trap this and display an appropriate error message )
