Is life mapped out for us?

Went to a psychic last night, she seemed pretty spot on for all of us. Got me wondering though, is our life already mapped out for us and no matter what we do it will always end with the same out come? Always been a great believer in everything happens for a reason. What's everyone else's thought on this?

I agree some people do cash in on these sort of readings, and yes one answer can lead to another, it will be interesting to see if anything will turn true, I take it with a pinch of salt. Went to a lot when I was younger and only one was right, and I didn't even see them I sent a photo and a letter. Been a long time since I'd been to one, we all had a good night and a good laugh. Was worth it just for that.

I used to have a work colleague who was Chinese, and she said that Chinese people believe that life is mapped out for us. We think that we are making a choice between this action or that one, but whichever action we choose, it's already been decided.

Sqad, the only bit I understood was that there was no point to it. There is no point to life is there? We are born, we live the best way we can and then we die. No point as far as I can see. Enjoy it while you can and don't think too deeply about it.

I think life is mapped out for us - and as Bookbinder has said, we think we are making a choice, but that choice, in my opinion, has already been decided.

I think life is what you make it BUT, i believe we don't come into this world or leave it a minute before we should.

I think it is, but it's not in the stars or anywhere a psychic could see. The son of a dustman and the son of a duke have life paths mapped out. One will probably be a life of relative poverty while the other will likely enjoy a life of wealth and privilege.

It was more a support for the inevitableness of determinism as opposed to some intelligence making plans for you.
