Britains terror alert status has changed to 'severe'.

Hasn't it always been this way though?

It's all really scary to me :-(

Wouldn't the terrorists go for big Events like Olympics etc. Or do you think they will just hit anywhere.

Wish everyone would just get on with life and be happy :-(

"Wish everyone would just get on with life and be happy :-( " Sorry that will only ever happen in an atheist world.
Sad, but it goes without saying. I think everyone should be on the alert now. I'm glad I'm not booked to travel anywhere.
Oh c'mon Ratter. There are only moral atheists? I'm glad there aren't any that don't conform to a pacifist lifestyle, non-judgmental theories, and greed because obviously religion is the reason behind every unkind act.

It's probably easier to strike smaller targets than big events actually from a security perspective.

There's absolutely no point in being scared, i feel no different to how I did last week about the whole thing. You can't predict any of the actions and I'm sure those that are doing their best to stop this sort of thing will continue to do so. Life is too short to be scared of this sort of thing and by being scared and not just going about your business as normal is exactly what extremists want so why give them the satisfaction.

Being alert is sensible. Being scared is a non-starter.
....I'm just glad that I live up a mountain in Wales (forest fires and all) - no one will ever find me here, I hope!!

It does scare me. I dream about it and everything lol. So silly, but true. I wish it didn't bother me so much.

Suppose it's just the way I am.

Kleiber - do you have a spare room lol
Sure - c'mon up!!
Well known places with people .. and landmarks/country status symbols.

Gotta get on with your life tho : )
dont be too suprised if they dont start to hit ''soft targets''....
I thought it was already at `severe` and had been for months.
When it changes to `critical`, then you run for the hills
lylabella, if you live your life in a state of scared, they've won. We need to show that life goes on - we can't live our lives assuming everything will be awful. If anything should kick off, there is precious litle we ordinary folk can do about it except be extra vigilant, report anything odd, and keep ourselves as safe as possible - but that's what we'd do anyway, these days. I never get on an aeroplane without hope that we'll arrive safely, every time I go through Gatwick I go as quickly as I can (a few weeks back it was heaving with armed cops and sniffer dogs, we didn't know why). I am trying to make the most of my daily life, and keeping alert. We have the docks and Eurostar and the Channel Tunnel near here - they'll be on alert. MI5 and the CIA will be doing their stuff.
Stoke, jelly or blancmange? Define target please.
