6 Answers
my friend leant me a usb cable ...it was for a blackberry - but said nokia on it..(!)
it had attached to it, a cable clip that was basically 2 curved pieces of plastic attached to the wire at one side.... they were kind of like lobster pincers but thin plastic about an inch high... from above it was kind of like this - () and you coil the wire and put it inbetween
this one was permanently attached to the cable but i wondered if you could buy loose ones you can attach to any cable
thanks

I've never seen those anywhere other than on a nokia cable (it's a standard USB cable BTW, hence why it's works with a blackberry)
I've seen these used to do the same job and they work well though.

You could try these for smallish cables

or reusable nylon ties

or velco type

I do have a pack of 5 cable ties for larger cables (such as a lawnmower cable) from a pound shop. Don't know the name but are hard plastic, black and yellow and have a ratchet and release clip. Very useful.
