I still have dial up connection ( dont laugh ) - with Virgin Media , as they are now called .

When I first took it out , i had a cable ( which I assume is the modem ) which runs directly from the phone socket and connects directly to the back of the processor .
All I had to do then was insert the disc that came with it , and everything was loaded and up and running .

Recently I have been unable to connect to the internet - you can hear the dialling tone operating in the processor , but it just does not connect to the internet .

After several calls ( premium rate to ther helpline - somewhere in india ) i spoke to a guy who talked me through taking off the thing that you click into to dial the internet - and then re inserted it .

However it still does not connect - although you can hear it dialling in the processor .
The guy says that I need to get drivers for the modem dial up connection, installed .

1. Dose this sound right - afterall would the drivers just dissapear from the computer - i certainly didn't remove anything ?

2. Would these drivers be on the disc which i received when i took out the internet subscription - and if so do i just insert the disc into the drive again ?
If not how do I get hold of these drivers ?

3. Also when i go into add/remove programs - to see what programs i have on computer - there is nothing showing that refers to virgin internet - the only thing I can see is something for the modem .

I probably wont be able to respond to any posts untill I can get to another computer , but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated .

Thanks
If the modem is dialing the driver should be good

The driver should be on the operating system cd or on the modem cd or downloaded

Dial the number manually on your handset and make sure you're getting a computer at the far end.
