My sister in-law, one of 8 children always wanted a dolls house but never had one for obvious reasons. She's 56 now and has just treated herself to one. Maybe I should just buy my garden!
Wow! Cowtipper, your father was very generous! Do you still have a motorbike?
My favourite toy was probably a selection of Weebles! My sis and I made houses for them from cardboard boxes. We were rather inventive in our youth!
I had a doll with a pot head but cloth arms and legs her name was Brenda, My whip and top when it was summertime, and marbles. We didn't have much money and unlike piggy I didn't have a todger.
I remember chinese skipping and also a tennis ball in a stocking which you bashed around you next to a wall, times were hard. Wasn't allowed clackers or a 'Miss World Head' which I craved. Favourite was a farm set with cows, chickens etc and a panda! Had a lovely dolls house until my sistr sat on iit!
Most of my 'toys' came from the tip and were done up by Dad.
Oh I remember the whip and spinning top! I never had one but my best friend did. She also had those clacker balls on a string. I used to love playing with my small bouncy balls (!) against the wall - 2, sometimes 3 at a time. I can't remember the songs we used to sing when we threw our balls........but there were a few songs/chants to go with it.
