Invisible - Like you I was going to do some (very light) gardening tomorrow but it is pouring with rain here at the moment - at last. My grass has been really gasping and going a funny shade of brown. I hope this will revive it. I may put a hat and coat on and dash out with some fresh grass seed for the patches while it is still wet.

We've got friends coming for the weekend. I've cleaned the house apart from the bathroom which I shall do tomorrow. They are due about 5pm when the first bottle of wine will be opened then I shall serve nibbles and stuff, got some of them party bite things. Then about 7pm we will eat pork shanks, duchess potatoes, roasted veg and creamed cabbage followed by home made banana cake with custard. The we will play cards, varies between 9 card don and crib, the winner over the night wins £1. Whilst the cards are in progress crisps, cheesey balls and dips will be served with about the 6th bottle of wine. Guests wll retire to comfy bed whilst me and him in doors are reduced to blow up mattress in lounge ( we live in a small house) Next morning a full English will be served (by me) and then friends will happily go on their way and leave me with all the washing up.

It is my birthday (all I will say is I am somewhere between 40 and death) but I will be in my usual Saturday routine of washing and ironing school uniforms, cleaning etc. Deep joy - not!
