The swallows are back!

I heard them shrieking about in the sky this morning - lovely - a whole week earlier than in past years. This is my sign that summer is on its way!

The swallows are back here too, have been for a couple of weeks, but sadly the Swifts have not returned to my eves, and it seems a bit late now :(

No redman, no suitable space - all we see is them soaring and screeching (and there are enough flying bugs about at the moment!).

When I was a child we had visiting housemartins - they built under the roof outside my bedroom window every year, it was lovely.

The swifts arrived in my area today! I heard them squealing this morning & later this afternoon I saw lots of them. I like them to be here for my birthday (yesterday) but I'll forgive them for one day. :o)
