Bendy plastic strips?

I am making a large indoor cage for my rabbit because it is a giant breed you cannot buy standard equipment, I standard indoor cage (plastic tray base with clip on wire cage on top) would be too small. I am already using a wire rabbit run/puppy playpen (pictured in link)

Only problem being the rabbit keeps jumping out as it is open topped my other woo rabbits don't jump out of their runs at all but this new rabbit is mad.

I have lookied at buy the same type of cage/run but with a wire roof and they are either too expensive or too small, or not suitable for indoors as require to be staked in grass.

So I have decided to create chicken wire panels which I can attach to form a roof to the roof panels as apposed to one solid piece of chicken wire this way I can flap open sections to get the rabbit out/feed/clean.

Only outstanding problem is all the wood shaving coming out on the floor that you don't get with a standard cage because they have high plastic sided bases to keep everything inside. In the past I have cut strips of cardboard and slid them in and weaved in out out through the bars at the lowest point of the wire run this works well. But being cardboard it doesn't last long. I need plastic which I can cut to size unless it's already the right size to fit the gap between the bottom of the run and the first horizontal bar (this is 14.5 cm) any ideas what I should look for at the garden centre or DIY, I could wander round for ever just looking at random things, so really need help, if anyone knows something that might work for this it has to be a wipe able material which has a bit of give/bend so I can weave it in and out the bars.

lol what the hell happened to this post people going off topic and eating rabbits tut tut, wash your mouth out.

The cage it currently on a tiled floor which has large litter trays on to allow the rabbit to get off the coldish tile if he wishes. I plan on getting some lino like my other runs have.

I have looked at the croft cages thanks but they didn't seem quite right, possibly too small, hard to extend and extend floor at the same time etc etc and I can't see a roof?

I got the items I need today, I got chicken wire, aviary wire to be exact which is made up of square instead of hexagons this will look better, be stronger, allow for easier measuring and trimming. I got a sliver wire to bind, And for the sides I got some clear perpex which was on a huge roll sold by the metre for £3.99 very happy with that as I can see the rabbit through the perpex so get to enjoy his full beauty. Just have to make sure I dont balls the cutting of the perpex up as only got enough no extra better measure and check twice before cutting.

Tony size of cage is 4ft by 4ft in area (based on one panel being 2ft so 2 panels by 2 panels, 8 panels all together), and I can buy more panels if and when needed. and then make more aviary panels for on top, but if the cage gets too big will have to add internal support as roof sections will likely be too heavy over a large area and start to fall in the middle, might need cross struts.

wt ... if it's acetate film - will it be ok if your rabbit decides to chew it and injests?

I have fitted the plastic so it is attached to the outside edge flush between two sets of bars therefore there is no edge on which the rabbit can purchase on/get teeth round, just a flat surface to scratch at and get no where. Will have to monitor the situation though and if he does manage to eat it will have to try something else. Thanks for the concern will be extra careful
