This is not so much a question, rather sharing an experience that I hope you find amusing but if you know why it happened I would appreciate your input.
This goes back many years, when the firm I worked for got their first computer. It couldn't do much, the typist and telex machine were considered more valuable. It was just used to store customer names and addresses. So we were doing a mailshot for a new service and needed to print off address labels for the entire customer base. The boss (who had a rather childish sense of humour) noticed that instead of the letter W the printer printed the letter S. Imagine the booms of laughter at the label for Whitford Plastics, or any customer whose address was White Street or in the town of Whitby.
