Do you believe...?
6 Answers
Do you believe that it's true leaving the TV on, or a radio playing for your dog while you're out of the house really helps them?
Does it really make them feel better and not so lonely? Please share your thoughts on this....and perhaps any links about this topic on the net...

Even when we go on holiday we leave it on, even though we have a neighbour coming in 2 - 3 times a day to feed them and to open and close the curtain's. :-)
flump1 is right, it breaks the silence, when we're home we talk and make lots of noise usually, dog's cut out what they recognize and respond if needed..ie...cookie, bye-bye..etc..Using noise for dogs helps if your dog is barking at outside noises when left in the home, or used as a cue for sep anxiety, so it has different applications. So leave a radio on talk radio, just don't leave the phone handy, they may start calling out and giving their opinion...lol
I never leave the tv on because my small shih-tzu has a thing about animals on tv even felix the cartoon. She just bark and barks at them so she would have a field day while we were out but yes I always leave a radio on so that they hear voices while I am out. I leave it on in the kitchen so they can alway go in another room if they want some quiet.
