1.Bill bets Craig 100 that he can predict the score of the Football game before it starts. Craig agrees, but loses the bet. Why did Craig lose the bet?

2.A father's child, a mother's child, yet no one's son.
Who am I.

3.Can you name three consecutive days without using the words Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday?

4.A man was found shot dead in his study. He was slumped over his desk and a gun was in his hand. There was a cassette recorder on his desk. When the police entered the room and pressed the play button on the tape recorder they heard, "I can't go on. I have nothing to live for." Then there was the sound of a gunshot. How did the detective immediately know that the man had been murdered?

5.A young peasant wanted to marry the king's daughter. The king didn't like the idea of his daughter marrying a peasant, but he wanted to appear fair in front of his subjects. The king said that he would put two pieces of paper into a hat, one reading EXILE and the other reading MARRIAGE. Later that day, the peasant overheard the king saying that both pieces of paper would read EXILE, thus ensuring that the peasant would be out of his way for good. The peasant remained undaunted and, as arranged, arrived at the king's court where a large crowd gathered for the big event. The peasant then did something that assured him the hand of the king's daughter. What did he do?

6.David was out for a walk when it started to rain. He did not have an umbrella and he wasn't wearing a hat. His clothes were soaked, yet not a single hair on his head got wet.

Answers to riddle 1,2,3, & 6 have been given correctly.
 5. The peasant asked the king to draw the first piece of paper from the hat, this would read "EXILE" leading any observers to think the slip left in the hat for the peasant to draw, would read "MARRIAGE". I haven't explained this very clearly, but hopefully you understand what I mean?!
The answer for Question 4 should consider that the tape recorder would have had to be re-wound to the beginning of the phrase the detective heard... somewhat difficult for a dead person to do...
4. When the detective played the tape, the message played instantly. If there hadn't been someone else in the room with the man, who rewound the tape to the start of the message?
Sorry Clanad, simultaneous posting there!

Answer to riddle 4 has been given. While i know what you are meaning jennibean with your answer to riddle 5.The peasant still picks first.

Sorry, having just checked with a mate with a much better memory than me, this explanation may make more sense -

The peasant takes out one of the pieces of paper, shouts "I won" and then puts it in his mouth & eats it. When the King tries to object, saying there's no proof, the peasant just tells him, "Llook inside the hat. The paper in there says EXILE proving I took the one that said MARRIAGE"

More alternative answers:

1. He never said the prediction had to be correct!

3. Lundi, Merdi, Mercredi (or any other consecutive days in any language other than English).

And not an answer, but a quibble: in 4, the gunshot recorded on the tape need not be the one that killed him, so the police were wrong to assume just from the tape that he killed himself.

jenstar the police never ever thought that the guy killed himself. At the end of that riddle it does state the detective immediately knew that the man had been murdered.

Maybe i'm missing what your meaning when you mention alternative answer for riddle 1.Can you explain what your meaning?

4. He wouldn't have been able to stop the tape if he shot himself while it was playing.
