Finally watched Friday's 2 episodes, and while it was good seeing the scenes between Rita and Dennis-its all false. I looked at Barbara Knox's wikipedia page and she was in ONE episode in 1964 then started in 1972 as a regular, so, as amusing as story about Rita at Elsie's was-its in writers imagination. (Dennis left in1968)
i cant remember seeing so prominently dennis tanners name and year etched in the window sill either on tv or when i did the granada tour twice
think it just been done !
Poor Dennis never stood a chance. I remember in the very first episode his mother accused him of nicking 2/- out of her purse to buy ciggies, when in fact it was her daughter who had taken the money to go shopping (in the days when you could go shopping with 2/- and still come home with change).
Well I thought - considering he was a street person he was looking good for his age
Mind you so is ken Barlow for his age
Remember ken is now probably the same age as uncle Albert
