Does anyone have experience of these?
I am booked in to have one on Friday
I have been reading about possible side effects and notice migraine is one, as i already suffer from them i am wondering if this implant will make them more frequent?
Also is it visible through the skin?
Thanks in advance

It's not visible through the skin but if you run your fingers along where it is then you can obviously feel it, I quite liked it as a party tricking for grossing people out :c)

I have had one for several years now and onto my 3rd! The first one was absolutely fab and despite the nurses trying to put me off by telling me everyone they knew had problems and ended up having them taken out, I had none and it stopped my periods for almost the entire time. I had another in and again this one was good too and I had very few periods and they were very light. After my 2nd child though I had another which I still have in now and this one hasnt been as good. I bled continuously for several months and now go about 1-2 months between periods but when I get them they are heavy. To be honest I am thinking about getting it taken out and just having another as the GP did tell me each one is different and I may well not have any problems with another. It isnt visible through the skin to look at but you can feel it and that grosses some people out! I have had no other side effects at all. You may as well try it and see how it goes, if its not for you just get it taken out but they do like it to be kept in for several months to give it chance to settle down. Good luck!
thanks all
I have v heavy periods already and am currently on the mini pill which stops them altogether and was told the implant would possibly do the same and so i will give it a go.
Was also told to expect erratic periods for first 3 months so will be trial and error i suppose. But if it means i dont have to remember to take a pill for 3 years its all good!
