I sometimes feel like an outsider

When reading the answers I've noticed that people regularly use first names as well as user names. Just interested in how everyone knows each other. My first name is the same as a prolific AB user so it could be very confusing. Isn't that what user names are for? Have never knowingly met an ABer so just curious.

Thanks for all your answers. I enjoy comimg in here and more often than not end up having a good laugh. Like life and work you will always get the awkward one or two but you can suss them out and choose not to get involved. Hubby works nights and his dad lives with us (93 this year) so don't get out much in the evening. Son comes and "Grandad sits" if we want to go out at weekend together.

I've been here for quite sometime, I've been part of the group that ruled the first chatterbank, (I can't even remember why or when it was taken from AB) then it returned, some members got together on other forums for chatting purposes but we all kept coming back here. I have months of the odd visit, then I'll become a regular again, so each time I come back, its more like starting all over again as a new group have taken the lead. I feel I have to get my feet back under the table!

Of course, there are quite a few of the 'old timers' still around and many new people who are very welcoming to say the least.

As for my name, those of you who know me via Facebook and Twitter already know I'm a Laura, not a Loren ( even tho someone insists it is! :p )
