Any ideas where I can buy a (cheap) short bed for my boxroom?  It can be no more than 150cm (5ft) long. I have tried a lot of sites but they often don't give the length of the bed.  It's a single I want for my granddaughter.

Have you tried IKEA? When my daughter was little we bought a cute little bed there which fitted nicely into her tiny bedroom.
Mothercare? It's described as a 'cot bed' but it seems to be the size you want.
4'9" bed 59.99 http://www.mothercare.com/invt/ly1750
Mattress 39.99 http://www.mothercare.com/invt/lv5896&bklist=icat,6, shop,shonursery,nurmattresses,matcotbedmattresses,cotcot bed70x140cm

Hoping this helps,

my friend bought a tiny bed from argos, you could try them

If it is just for the occasional night, get imaginative,it does not have to be a conventional bed.

eg a campbed, or a pile of cushions, or a large chunk of foam, or an old settee, or just the cushions off it.

I slept (with great glee!) in a cot with the side down at my grandmother's house until I could no longer curl up into it, at about age seven. At my other grandmother's house I slept on the windowseat in the porch, on the cushions. It seemed very novel & a lot of fun.

You can get a foam bed chair, a cube that unfolds into a bed, if it were a little bit long it could fold up at the end.We have 3 folding foam beach mats that have been used as a bed several times. I have even seen a wardrobe, turned on its side & without doors, used as a bed, with appropriate cushions!

Argos do shorty bunk beds if that is any help?
