No riots in Spain then?
No mindless vandalism (as yet ,and hopefully never) by those who have camped out overnight to protest against their country's forthcoming elections
unlike the last twice there have been mass demos in this country with thugs going on the rampage,
all I saw was people holding placards and and there appeared to be thousands of them.

"baz I am against violence of any kind, it just does not help any situation at all "
i didnt say I agree or disagree with violent protest, I merely stated my opinion based on facts of past experience.
I think if you look back over history all over the planet, peaceful protest rarely achieved anything of real worth.

// baz....you are right....the Poll Tax riots i assume you are referring to...//
It wasn't the riots ( which were very few ) it was a bad law and couldn't be enforced in a mobile society. Houses don't move and can be taxed ,people do and can't.
Single people, like students in particular may change their address every few months so councils couldn't serve tax demands on them .
